What Frédéric Maury dislikes about L'inte Caffe:
The reasons for booking a table at L'Inte Caffe: nice food and friendly waiters. The reasons for doubt: rather limited choice and expensive wines (some 35€ for an ordinary 8€ Chianti, Valpolicella or Montepulcano). The point of attention: be prepared for a hectic ADHD adventure: loud music, bad accoustics and (believe it or not) TV screens built in in the walls (!!!). Sea bass was very bland and very expensive, wild mushrooms weren't wild, and the waiter is a bit odd and didn't bring what we asked for until we asked two or 3 times. Panacotte was delicios. We've had better experiences in this restaurant, but will probably not go again on our next visit to Paris. Seems like it used to be better.
In our visit to Paris we were surprised to find that kosher restaurants are opened very limited hours. This restaurant opens 2 hours lunch time and 2 hours in the evening. We came for dinner enjoyed the rolls stuffed with goat cheese and honey and good pasta. We couldn't have coffee because milk was finished ?!
Before coming to Paris a friend said - you will have a hard time having a bad meal in Paris. I guess we forgot to discuss going to a kosher restaurant. Another caveat - I grew up 100% kosher and I was traveling with people who eat kosher. I also heard excellent reviews about this place so was genuinely excited to try it. Looking at the menu I was excited to try so many of the items - but so much disappointment. Goat cheese appetizer- I wrongly assumed this was fresh goat cheese drizzled in honey. Instead this was more like a goat cheese egg roll. It was interesting, different but after my first taste I didn't love it enough to eat moreSea bass tartare- flavor and seasoning were perfect. I thought the fish was not diced well or small enough. The texture made it difficult to eat. Mezze platter - exactly as expected and an abundance of food. This is a no brainer and must have. The bruschetta was great - there was a ton of melted mozzarella on top and I personally would have preferred there to be no cheese but it was definitely my favorite The other people at the table had pasta and risotto. The risotto was a clear winner. Don't remember what the other pasta was but the verdict was just that, unmemorable 12 hours laterTuna - the tuna steak on the menu wasn't available so the waiter suggested their special of the day. Sesame crusted tuna seared with a balsamic glaze. I really had wanted fish so was excited. The fish came and it was not rare. Not close. It was sliced into super thin slices in the kitchen and covered in a hot glaze which I am sure only cooked it more. The outside pieces were super well done and for the first time I sent a dish back. They said this is as rare as they can make it so they won't try again the middle couple pieces were what I ate. Also finished medium and not rare. It also tasted pretty fishy. I was very annoyed and disappointed with my dinner For a kosher diner this is a fun place, beautiful and great ambiance. Service was amazing for Kosher and on par with any other restaurant. Before ordering fish don't make my rookie mistake and ask when the fish was delivered
Quite disappointed… The first time, we absolutely loved it. This time, the experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, neither the owner nor the waiter greeted us. They seemed rushed (which I can understand), but a simple hello, especially when you have a reservation, seems like the bare minimum. Once seated, we had to wait about 10 minutes before the menu was brought to us. Yet, we had been asked to choose our order quickly. If that's the case, it would make sense to bring us the menu faster. We ordered the “fish burger and sweet potatoes” as indicated on the menu. When the dish arrived, there were no sweet potatoes, only regular fries. We pointed out the mistake to the waiter, who explained that the sweet potatoes were on the old menu. In that case, why not mention it before we ordered? Furthermore, the fries seemed frozen, even though the menu states that all products are fresh. The burger was okay, but the fish was very small and the bun was disproportionately large compared to the filling. On the other hand, the fish seemed fresh. I rarely leave reviews, but I'm disappointed. I hope this feedback helps you improve, as you have a lot of potential.
