Dined in l’escorial tonight (party of 8, 3 adults, 5 children) very pleasant night so happy to sit outside on several tables. ordered our meal (waiter was atten... read more Dined in l’escorial tonight (party of 8, 3 adults, 5 children) very pleasant night so happy to sit outside on several tables. ordered our meal (waiter was attentive) and waited. it was looked into the bar area and there it became interesting. various wine bottles were filled from a barrel that was on a higher shelf. when the bottle was filled, a cork was beaten in and voila, the wee you had ordered, was ready to be served. when the waiter put the bottle on the table, I have already opened, I asked in the French about a new bottle of it wein. there was no delay; he returned to the bar area and pulled an unopened bottle from the upper shelf. that was brought to our table and opened. it was better than the things from the touch, who knows, but it was the captain of the thing. eating was okay, not great, but pleasant.
