I suggest the chef's menu which , on our evening, including caviar, Britanny lobster, duck, truffles and all of the trappings of French elegance. The wine offerings from Burgundy and Bordeaux are nearly unparalleled but I suggest to sit back and allow the Master Sommelier pair with each course. Superb.As I recall, with large pairings of each course, the dinner was about 350 Euro and i rate as a great value. Great for a business dinner, romance, or a night out with 2 or 3 couples. Stands with Per Se and Eleven Madison Park in NYC, but less pretentious than the latter.Book it now!!

The room itself is beautiful an... read more We had wanted to have dinner at Le Taillevent for years, and were still surprised by how extremely it exceeded our expectations. The room itself is beautiful and sophisticated, cool and comfortable on a hot summer evening. The pigeon, the lamb, the crab salad appetizer were all impeccable; the wine list is monumental, but the sommelier was readily able to put in a sensible suggestion. The wait staff made us feel that nothing could have pleased them any more than taking our order and bringing it to us. For the quality of the cuisine and and the entire experience, the price represents an excellent value as well. A landmark experience.

I am happy I went but wouldn't rush back as it wasn't good enough to stop me trying new places. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu containing all the house specialities. All the dishes were good but the lamb with cherries and vanilla was incredible. I also liked the pana cotta with basil sorbet - a really refreshing dessert. The menus are only in French but the staff are extremely helpful. The wine list is very extensive so unless you know your stuff best to ask for help. So some great dishes but overall I expected something just a little more special.
