Don't go there if you are expecting a nice meal.

My friend and I were walking through the neighborhood when it suddenly started pouring rain, so we took shelter in Le Formidable and ordered some drinks. I had... read more My friend and I were walking through the neighborhood when it suddenly started pouring rain, so we took shelter in Le Formidable and ordered some drinks. I had a cocktail (Arobaz) and she ordered a glass of red wine (Bordeaux). The drinks were average. The Arobaz had a delightful pineapple foam that I very much enjoyed, but the drink itself wasn't very balanced overly sweet from too much pineapple and simple syrup, and not enough rum. The decor however was unique and interesting, like a living roof, with ivy and plants covering the walls and ceiling. Overall, spent a lovely hour here trying to dry to off before braving the rain again.

However we returned twice more, impressed with the service, food and utterly fantastic decor. The menu is a mix of tradition French fare and some interesting fusion cuisine such as steak with an oriental style sauce, which I really enjoyed. They have a good selection of wine and cocktails and my brunch dish of salmon and avocado salad was to die for.

We ate, for a quick lunch break, an omelette and toasts, bravo. sweets to improve (the tatin pie had the industrial air and the chocolate mousse is not worth mentioning) overall, a positive experience in any case!
