Was Tristan Mary at Auguste a mag?
We had the dinner taster course with wine pairings and everything was exquisite. The food was beautiful and the flavours amazing. The wines they chose worked so well with the flavours, I’m so glad we did this. We also had the dinner taster course with...wine pairings at le Cinq honestly I thought what we ate here was better than we had at le Cinq. Would give this more than 5 stars if I could, thank you for a wonderfu... View all feedback.
What Agathe Colin dislikes about Auguste:
Extremely disappointed in this dinner. The food was good, but mediocre. Nothing innovative or exciting. The staff wouldnt explain any of the dishes nor did they explain the wines. They simply threw the plates in front of you. We left after the main course when...we still had a couple of serves to go, because it was so disappointing. View all feedback.
We don't want to spend too much money and time for the 2 or 3 stars restaurants and find this one Michelin star restaurant on line titled 10 best value restaurants in Paris. We had lunch menu there. Love the food and the professional service. Will need to make reservation in advance with easy on line booking.
Intimate atmosphere, mirrors, white walls and pretty armchairs... Auguste is perfectly tailored to the cuisine of Gaël Orieux, a chef who is passionate about food and ingredients. His dishes? A quest for harmony and inventiveness, finely weaving together ingredients from land and sea. Affordable prices at lunch; all the stops are pulled out at dinner.
We went on Friday to Auguste to celebrate a very special birthday. We were unsure what to pick in the menu so we decided on the taster menu with the wine to go with it. The food was very good. Particularly the oysters( I could have eaten forty of them) and the turbot was also excellent. Now, the wines? That they have paired with the menu? To forget. As with everything, I guess its a question of taste. Having said that... The waitress asked at the end if we had enjoyed and we said explicitly in a very nice way that we had liked the food but not the wine...( 4 glasses went untouched- someone should have paid attention at this point...)She stared blankly and said: oh, desolee and she handed the bill. Uh? Seriously? In a restaurant of this type at that price you expect outstanding customer service. When your customers leave the wine untouched, you bring something else. That should be standard. Frankly, we left feeling 'unloved'. Too bad really.
Not great service waiter knocked our bottle of water off the table, which splashed onto us. No apologies, just a new bottle and it wasn’t taken off the bill. Informed them one of our party had a nut allergy and the dessert served had almonds!?! Had to take medicine for it and the only “apology” was a new dessert without the almond cake very poor form given the potential danger of cross contamination and anaphylactic shock. Especially as I had double checked with the waiter (who assured me it had no nuts) before taking a bite! The restaurant atmosphere is bizarre very warm and no music. The ambiance does not deliver especially with the poor service. We ordered the lunch set and the chicken main (sous vide) was dry I couldn’t finish it. The artichoke side was very good though, and the starter soup was delicious. Overall, the service and food was not worth the Michelin rating. I would not come again or recommend it.
