Though it appears small at first sight, the room is actually surprisingly airy and there's even a large room for private functions downstairs. Saalef the owner left Afghanistan in the 80s and has been running this restaurant for nearly 30 years. The food is absolutely authentic and the young man who was doing the service was also from Afghanistan. Here, there is absolutely zero fake, from the decoration to the food everything breathes Afghanistan and leaves a delicate fragrance of spices on your tongue.

We had the most wonderful meal here with friends on a cold Saturday night in November. We enjoyed a range of starters, a highlight of which was the aubergine caviar. The vegetarian dumplings were also delicious. Definitely recommend for a change from heavy french food when in Paris!

Very rude owner (if you are Afghan) ... psh the irony? As soon as we entered the restaurant and greeted the owner in Afghan fashion his mood changed and he seemed annoyed. He spent more time talking and laughing up the French couple who were dining before finally coming to our table and asking what our order was in an off-putting way. To be very honest, it was the worst Afghan restaurant experience of my life. Owner stated that the restaurant is not for Afghans. With that in mind, don't come here looking for some authentic Afghan food, hospitality or atmosphere. Come here if you want over-priced, Westernized Afghan food and a performative experience by a moody owner. To the owner, I understand you may have your own thoughts and experiences with some Afghans, or it could be that living in France for so long has made you averse to the Afghan people and/or culture, but to overall be unwelcoming and rude to your fellow Afghans while profiting off our shared culture is just disgraceful and disrespectful. I genuinely want to see us Afghans thrive and do well, especially across the globe. However, that cannot be done at the price of disrespect to our people. Based on past reviews for this restaurant it seems like this is a trend. As a tourist and fellow Afghan I was greatly disappointed beyond measure. Service: Dine in Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Forget about the food the service here from the owner is extremely disrespectful. The young worker is a great guy and I feel bad that he has to work for such an owner. How this place is still open is beyond my belief. Good luck to who ever goes here. Owner tried to dispute this review but this is a real review appealed on Google. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
