Visiting family and we came for brunch. The menu is vast and varied. With six of us ranging in age from 10 to 60, there was something for everyone. And no one was disappointed. I had the raspberry salad with mixed greens, walnuts, apples, raisins, and strawberries tossed in a raspberry vinaigrette topped with grilled chicken. It fresh, delicious, and plentiful! I couldn 't finish it but I took it home to have later. My nephew polished off his Benedict and my niece enjoyed her chicken gyro so much she reviewed it on her food blog. My younger niece had the Red, White, and Blue pancakes with strawberries, bananas, and blueberries. I was at the opposite end of our table, so I can 't report on my sister 's and brother 's meals--only that my sister 's breakfast bowl was declared delicious and looked bottomless despite her best efforts. Our server was friendly and kind and got our orders right without using pencil and paper. The diner is an appropriate title and matches the setting and decor. It seemed like a lot of the patrons were regulars and I 'd be one, too, if I lived here. Oh, and the dessert case at the entrance is a sweet trap. I dare you to leave without buying one. We resisted enough to just get two.
The food was served without any flavor or presentation, similar to hospital food. This critique specifically applies to our forgetful and inattentive waiter. The entire waitstaff appeared weary and uninterested in our presence. The ambiance was reminiscent of a typical diner with plenty of seating. It's a shame that this diner used to be much better in past years. I felt embarrassed for recommending it, as everyone at my table was disappointed with their meals. One person even suggested that we should have gone to Wendy's instead.
They need to do better. the hostess is a nightmare. rude to elderly and handicapped. the restaurant is busy and one person may not make a difference to you, but I will not be back.
I visited this restaurant last week for a quick meal. I had low expectations as it was a typical New Jersey diner, but I was hoping for a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, there were no surprises here. We were seated promptly and my companion ordered a chicken salad with guacamole while I opted for a BLT with fries. The salad did not look fresh and was underdressed, so we requested extra dressing. My coffee was satisfactory, but the BLT was mediocre with bacon that seemed reheated and fries that were not crispy. The atmosphere was lacking, and I don't remember anything about the decor. It is disappointing when restaurant owners show a lack of imagination and effort in their menu offerings.
We've always driven past but never remember to come back. But this time, we wanted to stay in the area after a movie so we finally went. We've been missing out : Very cool interior. There are a couple of semi round booths that were cool looking. I would have loved to sit there, but they were occupied, maybe next time, hehehe Service was great by Mary. Large menu to read lol and some interesting cocktails. If we drank, we definitely would have ordered some. Cavatelli and Salmon, comes with soup or salad, so I opted for the soup. Kale and Sausage soup was really good. I'm glad I ordered it. The pasta was delicious as well. Hubby ordered the United Nations Omelet. Which is 4 types of cheese. He ordered a side of Corned Beef Hash. He loved the Omelet. And the hash was crispy but not burnt. Something most places can't get right. I like that the cakes are individually portioned. So you know that each order is the same as last. And so many varieties of cake *drool* I ordered the Truffa Cake to go. Will definitely be coming back!
