I was expecting better from my salad. The lettuce was not fresh and my sweet potato fries were cold.
The food was good, but the service left much to be desired. As someone who has worked as a server for 12 years, I rarely complain, but I definitely know the difference between a busy, good server and one who is just lazy or ineffective. There were only about four other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Our server took our order and was polite and friendly, but after a brief check-in to see how we were enjoying the appetizer, she seemed to vanish until we were done eating. She didn't inquire if we needed anything when the food arrived or check on how we were enjoying our meals. I needed a knife, and it took ages to get one—by the time I received it, everyone else at the table was already finished eating. The food runner was the one who finally brought it to me, not our server. We hardly saw her attending to other tables either; she just seemed to disappear entirely. The food runner was nice but appeared overwhelmed and took a long time to deliver things. While both she and the runner were friendly, the overall service was disappointing. Not a single plate or cup was cleared from our table until we left. Is it really considered service if the server isn't even around? I only tipped because of my background in the industry, but it's frustrating to reward someone for doing very little. Honestly, I would have preferred to tip the food runner instead.
Service is friendly and efficient. Food es as good as it gets for a local burger/brew chain. Good option for no frills lunch
I had an excellent time at Red Robin today. My server, Stephanie was very friendly and attentive. The Onion Rings short stack was great. The Onion rings were nice, crispy and not greasy at all. Both the Campfire Sauce and the Ranch were terrific. I even got some ranch for my Broccoli. I got the Black n' Bleu burger and it was wonderful. A little messy but cheesy and full of flavor. I'm glad they brought back the Mississippi Mud Pie because that is their best dessert. While it was hard to get at first since was frozen solid, the ice cream was delicious, especially the Oreo crust. I had a very pleasant lunch today and I hope to return to this location in the near future.
