I have tried to visit this restaurant multiple times, but it has always been closed. I wish they would either fix the signs or remove them, as it is very misleading and disappointing.
Ivy Cottage has been closed for several years and has been on the market for a while. When we arrived in Paluma, we found that the only other café in the area was also closed, despite their website indicating otherwise. Disappointed, we decided to head back down to Rollingstone beach and enjoyed some delicious fish and chips at the cafe there. I would suggest visiting Rollingstone beach cafe instead.
After navigating a narrow and winding road, we were pleasantly surprised to discover this charming restaurant tucked away in a picturesque village. The walls were adorned with local artwork and a video showcasing the area's many bird species played in the background. The coffee was flavorful, and the tea was brewed using real tea leaves, a welcome change from the usual teabag in a pot. We opted to share the Ploughman's Lunch, which included a delightful assortment of items such as tiny gherkins, ham, salami, olives, cherry tomatoes, sourdough bread, mango chutney, and cheese. It was well worth the price and left us satisfied.
Checked on FB the opening times so decided to go for a drive for their Devonshire Tea as its has always been good on previous visits. Arrived at 12:00pm and it was closed, looking very run down, a waste of a two hour drive.
