This place is a North Queensland institution and we've been going there since the late 1980s, right through the pandemic, when it was clearly struggling as many businesses were. Unfortunately, on our most recent stop the prices and portion servings were a bit over the top. We wound up paying 18 dollars for a couple of lattes and a (very small, ungenerous) scoop of mango. We would have had a meal but it's got a very limited selection of foods, mostly sandwiches, and no salads and the price put us off. Bit of a shame, really.
Very disappointed you’re not open, brochure says you’re open every day 7 days a week. 8 to 18.00. Sunday 23 July 8.20. I’m afraid you lost big business. I had a list. I hope we can get some on our way back in around 3 weeks. Of course by that time I’d have eaten everything I had and would have needed more . Very Disappointed.
I had been eager to visit this restaurant and try their ice cream, but since it was still morning, we opted to have coffee and pancakes instead. The coffee we had was surprisingly one of the best we've ever had in Queensland. The pancakes were also quite delicious. The restaurant was bustling with people enjoying a variety of dishes, from pies to ice cream. Definitely worth checking out!
It's unpatriotic of people who put down local businesses who struggle to keep going. If romancing life in the sub tropics is your game, bring her with you. Lovely spot, concept place for sampling locally made product. Take a walk through native exotic fruit tree garden chill with a mango Martini.
I recently tried the ginger ice cream at this restaurant and I must say that I really loved it. In addition to the unusual flavors, they also offer more traditional options for those who prefer classic desserts. It's a perfect spot to take a break, enjoy a snack, and have enough space to relax and park your vehicle.
