Oh, my goodness - the food was fantastic! They were very accommodating with my dietary restrictions and prepared the most delicious meal. My partner ordered the lamb saag and said it was incredibly tender. I highly recommend this restaurant, and we even purchased some of the chef's spices to try at home. Yum! View all feedback.
What Stephan Schmeler doesn't like about Anita's Spice Restaurant:
I decided to dine at Anita's after reading numerous positive reviews, but I was thoroughly disappointed by the subpar food quality. Despite the high praise, I found the dishes to be lackluster in both Indian flavors and overall taste. The soggy pappadums were a huge let down and had to be returned, which should not have happened at an Indian restaurant. The main dishes took over ninety minutes to arrive, and my chill... The restaurant owner greeted us warmly as we paused to peruse the menu, which ultimately convinced us to return for dinner the following evening (since we already ate that night). The food was delicious, and we appreciated the stunning view of the full moon over the ocean.

I seldom write reviews as it annoys me that every man and his dog is a critic now that forums like this exist!I have been eating curry for over thirty years all around the world. The best I have ever eaten was in Shrewsbury England cooked by the Bangladeshi owner Mr Khan at his restaurant. It was a fish curry. Tonight's chicken vindaloo was the closest I have had yet to that! It was spectacular. The best most moist chicken, the sauce just right in temperature and popadums with accompanying sauces fantastic. The lady said she only uses TripAdvisor for her advertising, even not having a take away menu. She was very confident that I would love the food and asked that I write a review if I did. I suggested she was brave as I often see TripAdvisor as a reason to complain for people. So here is my review! Great food! Thanks.

Despite the high praise, I found the dishes to be lackluster in both Indian flavors and overall taste. The soggy pappadums were a huge let down and had to be returned, which should not have happened at an Indian restaurant. The main dishes took over ninety minutes to arrive, and my chilli prawns were far from satisfying. The use of small supermarket prawns in a sauce that resembled a bottle sauce did not impress me. Indian cuisine is known for its bold spices and flavors, which were sadly lacking at Anita's. I would recommend trying other restaurants in the area instead. The service staff were apologetic for the food delays, but this was not their fault.
Went with our kids who do not like spicy food and Anita's staff were very accommodating, we all loved it. The food was great and service exceptional. Put this on top of the list of places to eat in Palm Cove.
