We dined with friends last Thursday night. It was a pleasant experience, the menu had all the usual Thai suspects(eg pad Thai, Larb and stir fries).and some unusual fusion like choices. First start with the positives - the service and staff are great. Fast and friendly service from people who still understand good customer service. The food also came quickly, but one dish came almost immediately and the other came when first was almost finished - which was a shame - put not a crime punishable by death. They offered a 10% discount, but only if you order online or by calling. After I paid, I realise that they had a 10% discount, but she said you only get it if you ask for it before paying. Also, my food was extra sweet when I asked to be extra spicy. Everything was salty and a lot of onions and capsicum in both meals that I ordered. I've eaten there a few times, but after this, I will never ever go there again.
I have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the last few months and their food has been fantastic every single time. I particularly like their duck salad but everything we have tried has been fresh and full of flavour. It is a bonus that it is also BYO.
Average but popular because of the open inviting decor. Expensive, the banquet deals are well better
Have been going to Doytao for a few years now, on my last visit I was very disappointed with the food and service. No customer service at all the waitresses do not smile what so ever. Not sure if they have changed ownership but everything was very different. I was disgusted after paying my bill and walking out one of the waitress chased me outside saying that they had under charged me by 1 drink. We were a table of 10 so the bill was a lot and they made the mistake of undercharging us by $3 very disappointed that they would come out and chase you for that. I will definitely not be returning or recommend anyone to this Thai restaurant.
My mum lives in Padstow so I have been coming for years. I have never had a bad meal here. The full range of Thai is available and it is all good. I just noticed prices creeping up.
