This is what used to be called a greasy spoon restaurant. I give it max stars for taking me back to my youth, minus the cigarette smoke (obviously). I was in town for Big Bad Con 2022 and needed breakfast. This place did the trick. I orderedvegetarian options and donuts. Don 't pass on the donuts IMO! Thank you for the great service ????????
I really wanted to like this place and has all the makings of 5 star review because the food is good but the basics are lacking 1) we were not greeted and I asked table for two and one member staff pointed to the back open tables none cleaned or wiped down2) asked for a booth for two and denied because I assume owner a young man said they are reserved for 4 despite less than busyhour and other customers of 1 and 2 parties already seated in other booths. The food is good, service is adequate, but theassumed owner just sat on the high tops and was on the phone and not paying attention his Customers. The signs need updating, overhead menus, donuts, and restrooms are missing. The path to the restroom is unmarked to the rear past the kitchen between acart of supplies and groceries and fridges in the back. The bathroom might be ok for staff, but maybe needs organization andless clutter. The business lacks identity no business history, specials, menu highlights, personality or friendliness. Justfood service and promise to make anything you want. There is a sign to be kind, but it?s misplaced. We ordered both the cornbeef hash and Benedict food is good, no fruit or garnish. The kitchen is located adjacent to the high top bars, but not utilizedfor customers, but for staff meals and owner to sit. I asked for the bill and the staff member left the machine for me toprocess the payment. We left the same way we came in with no goodbyes just someone at the register counting receipts. There istake out, but a little confusing as the pickup is located past the register between kitchen and donut display. As I said thebasics, something the other brunch places in the area make it a point of emphasis to balance great food and experience. I hopethe owner takes this feedback to heart.
Fantastic. Everything was spot on. At 6:30 am I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. One of the best that I can remember having in years. My husband ordered eggs with bacon, sausage, hash browns. He loved everything. Really good coffee and donuts weredelicious. We took donuts home to our neighbors and they loved them. Service was just great. I highly recommend this greatlittle cafe/donuts shop. It will be our go to before all flights out of SFO.
They make the best cinnamon cake doughnuts! I visit from London at least once every few years and always head here for coffee and doughnuts.
The first time I ordered for a holiday breakfast, my scramble was fine, but the Nutella waffle I got for my child was a disaster. It was completely soggy and everything was mixed together. They should take note from other restaurants that keep the Nutella and whipped cream separate, so it doesn't soak into the waffle during delivery. Recently, I ordered breakfast again, which was acceptable but a bit light on the potato portions, which is unusual for them. Still, it wasn't terrible. The real issue was with the blueberry pancake I ordered for my kid—it arrived with no butter or syrup. My child’s expression when they took their first bite was pure disgust. I tried a bite myself, only to find out that the pancake was also filled with cinnamon and banana, which my kid despises. To top it all off, when we cut the pancake in half, we discovered that the entire center was still raw batter. There are plenty of other places that care more about the quality of their food. I'm glad others seem to enjoy this place, but I don’t think we will be returning. The donuts are alright, but there's a place by the Burlingame train station that is much better.
