At Rosalind Bakery, we believe that good bread doesn 't just happen—it starts with passion. Our founder, Matt Kosoy, turned his love for baking into a thriving bakery. It all started back in 2016, when he baked delicious loaves for the neighbors and local cafes from his Pacifica kitchen and garage. The dream blossomed into reality in 2019 with the opening of our production facility and storefront, named in honor of his grandmother, Rosalind. Each day, our artisanal sourdough and pastries are lovingly crafted, naturally-leavened, and baked fresh by hand. We take pride in sourcing all of our ingredients locally, supporting small businesses—from the flour to the coffee beans that make each bite special. As the farmers’ market season kicks off, you can find us at our booths in Pacifica every Wednesday from 2 pm to 6 pm, and in Half Moon Bay every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. What sets our sourdough apart? The secret lies in our coastal location. Just a stone 's throw from the Pacific Ocean in Pacific Manor, the unique climate provides ideal conditions for fermentation. The delicate balance of humidity and salinity creates an environment that nurtures the yeast and lactobacilli, leading to our signature tangy bread. Our commitment to quality has earned us a spot among the top sourdoughs in the Bay Area, with highlights from the San Francisco Chronicle praising our Coastside Sourdough for its pronounced tang and our Walnut Rosemary variant for its subtle sweetness. We are excited to announce the grand opening of our new location at Four Embarcadero Center in San Francisco! Here, you can indulge in our carefully curated menu featuring not just delectable pastries and crusty bread, but also the freshest coffee drinks in town. I discovered Rosalind Bakery through a class I took at the mill in San Francisco, and it came highly recommended. My friend and I sampled a variety of items from their menu, including croissants, chocolate croissants, savory Danish pastries, and a blue corn cookie. Every bite was incredibly delicious, and their coffee was excellent as well. We enjoyed a great conversation with the owner, who shared his inspiring story of starting the business out of genuine passion. I highly recommend Rosalind Bakery to anyone in the Bay Area.
