The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had in a long time. It reminded me of my grandmother's cooking—need I say more? The portion size was very reasonable for the price, and the waitress was incredibly friendly. I will definitely be going back! View all feedback.

Great food and service! Our waitress was TEXCELLENT!!! And they beef enchiladas.... delicious!!!!
We really enjoyed our meal at Pepe's. This restaurant is family-owned with mum in the kitchen, and it shows. The food was fresh and filled.
Unexpected pleasure. Stunned on Pepe's Cafe in December, while gas stops in Ozona. Lively holiday decoration around the rock and canvas legend art awakened the atmosphere above the standard food stop. The Salsa Picante, chips and my side order of Tacos were fresh and tasty. My husband enjoyed his Enchilada plate, and the fluffy rice and bean sides were excellent. This place would definitely keep its own under any urban Tex Mex restaurant. Recommended! We arrived in Ozona road weary and hungry after hours driving through West Texas scrubland. Took a look around town and thought there's no way we'll find a decent restaurant, might as well get some fries at the DQ. Then, we discovered Pepe's Cafe. Full of character and painted in briht, energizing colors, it looked worth a try and I'm glad we did. I ordered the Camarones a la Diabla, which were prepared with fresh, meaty shrimp, spicy chipotle peppers, garlic, and tomatoes, over rice, with a fresh side salad. It was well presented and very flavorful. My traveling companion had the chicken fajitas and nearly licked his plate clean! Pepe's has a cool atmosphere and good food in an unexpected location. Recommended.
Mmmm mmm.. Road food can be good for you too. We stopped in to Pepe's to have a bite on the way elsewhere. It's a hip little tex-mex joint in Ozona, Tx that we wouldn't have found without Urbanspoon. Food seems to be all prepared on site, except perhaps the flour tortillas but they were very fresh and delicious. Chips and some spicy salsa arrived shortly at our table after we arrived, and then giant iced teas. A welcome respite to a dusty hot day in Texas. I had the Carne guisado, which is a little like mexican beef stroganoff. I'd never had it before and this was a tasty new treat for me. It came with a nice fluffy mexican rice and possibly the best tasting refried beans I've had in a very long while. My husband ate a burger and fries. The fries were hand cut on site from fresh potatoes and reminded me of home being so delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is urban and very upbeat, the people were very nice. I enjoyed the visit. My only problem was the bathroom needs some serious attention.
