Everything positive that people say about this place is spot on. The family service is genuinely courteous and kind. The pork ribs were incredibly tender with a nice bark. I don’t share the common criticism of the side dishes; I actually enjoyed the bold seasoning. The cobbler had a wonderful balance of sweet and savory flavors. I'd like to emphasize a helpful tip: there isn’t a comfortable spot to eat on-site, so I took my food to the nearby Chamber of Commerce, where there are nice shaded picnic tables.
The restaurant offers counter service and has a few picnic tables outside. The brisket was perfectly charred and packed with flavor. I appreciated the option to have it wrapped instead of in a sandwich, making for a relatively mess-free lunch. However, the potato salad had a bit too much dill for my taste. Overall, we would definitely stop by again if we're in the area.
Initially, the price seemed a bit high, but it includes a drink and dessert, making it comparable to other places for a single meat plate. Additionally, the portions were generous—definitely more than what you’d find at most BBQ spots. The meal came with a pickle spear, sliced onions, and a slice of delicious homemade bread, which was a wonderful touch. There’s no indoor seating, only a couple of picnic tables outside. We're just passing through, but we would definitely come back the next time we're in the area.
Wife and I stopped here for takeout on a road trip across Texas. We ordered beans, a pork sandwich, and brisket. We?re used to baked beans from Tennessee and other southeastern states, so they were different than what we were accustom to (Texas bakedbeans are made differently). The brisket was good and the pulled pork was fantastic! They both had nice a smoked flavor andwe?re very juicy! I asked the lady on the phone, when placing my order, If it came with any side sauces. She mentioned it comeswith one side sauce. But when I got my bag there were three side sauces, it was generous of her to realize I wanted sauce andprovided extra without us asking and their sauce was really good!! Customer service and food was great! We would definitely stopby again when traveling along I-10!
