This is a very overrated cafe. The coffee was average (I've had better elsewhere in Oxford) which was disappointing because my friend had said how good it was. Food not great. If you can find a seat you're lucky.
This whole experience was so customer unfriendly. Five of us arrived for coffee and cake 45 minutes before closing time. But we were refused cake because 'it 's been wrapped up ' (in cling film in a cabinet where we queued to order). Total refusal to peel back the cling film... astonishing. Then, one of them came to our table to 'alert ' us to the fact that they were 'closing soon ' actually in 20 minutes. It 's not a good experience when the staff seem solely focussed on their own needs.
I have just read a poor review and just felt I had to comment of course there is a mark up its the same with all business if I was toto sell my artisan pies to a cafe and not just to a shop the mark up varies dependent on business I make more selling direct There is a cost of staffing that has to be factored in to cafes and other business Review august to October 6 Years ago. we ere due back 2 years ago but covid hit and are coming back on Thursday Brilliant cofee best in the area loyal customer whilst working pa contract for the council pleasant friendly staff that were interested in you cant wait to go back delicious cakes ! unique flavours
Lovely looking coffee shop with fantastic looking pastries in the window but overall not as good as it looks. Being a fan of a mocha coffee that was my drink, served in a tiny glass and didnt taste of much. Cake was interesting, beetroot, chocolate and cherry, generous portion but a bit dry. Disappointing for me but is a popular place so maybe I just chose badly.
