My favorite place for burgoo, mutton and chicken. It's great as eat in or carry out. I regularly hit the drive thru when coming back home for a gallon of burgoo. The deserts are always good too. View all feedback.

read moreOld Hickory is a BBQ joint that has generated a lot of buzz, but does it live up to the hype? Some customers were less than impressed with the food quality, noting issues with freshness and taste. However, others raved about the authentic hickory smell and loved the unique flavors of dishes like Burgoo and chopped mutton. The atmosphere also received mixed reviews, with some finding it cozy and charming while others felt it lacked the traditional BBQ joint vibe. Prices range from $10 to $50 per person, depending on the meal type, with takeout being on the higher end. In conclusion, Old Hickory seems to be a solid choice for decent BBQ, but opinions vary on whether it truly stands out among other Owensboro eateries.
