We have been coming for lunch to this traditional Galician/Gallego (Spanish), family run establishment on our annual summer holiday for about six years now (but I understand the restaurant has been there for decades). And the food keeps getting better! The cooking is really excellent (the head chef is the son of the owner, and clearly takes pride in his work). As far as I can tell nearly everything is made in house. The dishes are hearty, portion sizes are generous, and it is good value for money (and there is a good set menu for those whose priority is a very affordable lunch). There are very few tourists it seems this is largely a place where locals come to eat. Therefore it can be empty at normal lunchtime (say, 12:30), and then absolutely full about an hour later (when the locals have their lunchtime). The mural is apparently done by one of the waiters! The atmosphere is lovely, and is enhanced by Luis: the very friendly owner who meanders through the tables ensuring everyone is having a good time. Looking forward to our next visit!
We were visiting our son's wife's parents in Galicia, a local family. His Birthday occurred during our visit and this restaurant was chosen by them as a suitable venue to celebrate it. This was our first visit to it. The menu was chosen for us, starting with some of the best octopus I have ever had in Galicia, followed by clams in a sauce and then fried small eels. The main course was a very tender goat stew with the most fantastic fried potatoes and desert an absolutely historic chocolate cake. The wine was excellent; I was glad we had taken a taxi. Although they no longer have menu of the day the prices of the letter are reasonable the place is very clean and welcoming and the correct service. the eels and the empanada are two of star dishes. without doubt the place is recommended
Good food and very good information from the local manager when we asked him to eat a marscada and told us that in August, if we get marscada in some restaurant it would be frozen. excellent ratio quality price.
