Visited with family and thought if the family platter was going to be enough, and it was! There was so much leftovers after feeding a family of 5 adults, and the taste was very fresh. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Shawarma Place:
The best part about this place is the friendliness of the server. The shawarma is average at best. Often the food tastes old. It is dried up because there isn't enough turnover. View all feedback.
The meat selection is unique that it is almost always quite tasteful, but not its traditional ottawa fat shawarma. depending on their taste, but for me I like this meat, because it doesn't feel like I'm eating a bad...health. their garlic sauces are both great. for just a regular sandwich in the city or a small combo it is a good place and it is also very late opened. a little bit is that their kartoffels are unfortunately very dry and do not have to be used to my taste in the regular in garlic sauce to add some moistness. with that I would never get a plate from here because the kartoffels are an important part of the plate for me. their sandwiches are however a good taste, but not greasy.
On Thursday, the 8th March I needed some quick food as I came back from a ottawa senator's game and the prizes for eating it is ridiculous! I have explored near my hotel eating options and most were closed at 11:30 o'clock....I have seen that the shawarma was open and decided to turn on! since I am from the east coast, there are not many possibilities for shawarma. So I'm new at trying this food! but it was great! many nice and the kartoffels were the best I ever had! the garlic sauce they added was great! very recommended!
Visited with family and thought if the family recorder would be enough, and it was! there were so many rest after feeding a family of 5 adult, and the taste was very fresh.
Either this place or the one on hunt club and bank, they cannot go wrong. line ups look long, but they go fast and are worth waiting. I'm leaving.
We were exploring the side streets of Ottawa during lunch time and wanted to find a hole in the wall non-touristy, local hangout and we found a treasure! We had a lunch special for under $6 a chicken Shawarma and a diet soda. They have...a large selection of fresh food and we were give a sample of the Falafel which was a tasty treat. Excellent again. The owners were pleasant very outgoing, just like most people in Ottawa. Many of the restaurants are or can be pricey but this is a gem. Small, clean and friendly.
