Ate here pre-security when flying out of Ottawa. Food was good; fairly standard fare for a grill of this style but compared to many airport restaurants it stood out. Service was quick and staff friendly, very relaxing when prepping for a flight. View all feedback.

During a layover at YOW, I met up with my cousin for a meal. We split a plate of nachos and each had a glass of wine. The nachos were average and nothing special. During a layover at YOW, I met up with my cousin for a meal. We split a plate of nachos and each had a glass of wine. The nachos were average and nothing special. However, the most memorable aspect of our dining experience was the sour attitude of our server. Although she wasn't particularly rude to us, she had a constant frown on her face. The service was incredibly slow, despite the fact that we were the only table in the restaurant for part of our visit. It seemed clear that she disliked her job, and as a result, her customers. Some individuals are simply not suited for customer service roles.
Unfortunately, the experience at this restaurant was terrible. There were only four other people at the restaurant and it still took over half an hour to get our food. My plate (Asian Burger) was unseasoned and it was mostly pieces of fat. The side of fries were pretty decent, though. The service from our waitress was bad- she seemed very tired or moody, spilled several things and did not smile once. Perhaps the restaurant needs to hire more staff so they are better rested when at work. Will not visit again.

It's a restaurant with seating in the pre-security zone at the departure level. The good thing is that it opens earlier, i.e, at 6:30am, and closes late, i.e, at about 8:30pm prior to the end of the check-in of the last flight. I did have breakfast and dinner occasionally in this restaurant, and the recent one is a dinner in mid September. For breakfast, it is kind-of typical Canadian breakfasts that you would choose, e.g, omelette with fried potatoes. For dinner, they have more choice from the menu and I did try the chicken alfredo, which is quite nice. Given it is the only restaurant with proper seating and served by waiters/waitresses at the departure level, I do feel that the price is a-bit over. Anyway, given the remaining choices are Harvey and two coffee shops (one at the departure level and another at the arrival level), it is fine.
We recently met family for lunch at this pre-check in restaurant at the airport. What a great meal we had! I wouldn't have expected this at the airport at all. The service was great and the food was delicious. I had the haddock sandwich. It was really tasty. Others had the salami sandwich, avocado BLT and the chicken penne (and two more haddock sandwiches) Everyone was really pleased. Made for a nice pre- goodbye.
