Amazing Pho. I have been coming to this restaurant ever since it opened. It was one of the first Pho restaurants in Orleans. The chef uses his family recipes which he brought from Vietnam. The restaurant is family owned and operated. The service is very friendly and you will be greeted with a smile even when they are busy. Everything looks and tastes fresh. A must try!! What Francesco Gentile doesn't like about Pho Truc Lien:
Worst pho ever! The good reviews here must be from family and friends because this is cannot even be considered food. Small portions and high prices for something that looks and probably taste like the mud from the Ottawa River. View all feedback.
The restaurant is great and the staff are very nice. We eat here regularly because the food is good at a fair price. I am a fan of the Pho dishes as well as the Bun. We always start with the Vietnamese salad rolls. There...are some better ones around town but they are good nonetheless. We then select from the assortment of Pho and Bun dishes which are well worth the visit. The staff is delightful and always ready to answer any questions.
OK, I love Vietnamese cuisine and have tried many but this is hands down the best I have been to. The food is fantastic and the owners and their family are very friendly and kind. If you want a great meal at a good price...this is the place for you. I am not going to go into the different menu choices but rest assured, you will not be disappointed.
We get takeaway from this restaurant from time to time. My order was ready well before the allotted time. The spring rolls were a little dry and a tad over cooked but the Sweet and sour soup was excellent. A delicate blend of flavours that...allowed each to reach the palette without overwhelming the other. Their Pad Thai is not as bold as that in a true Thai restaurant but was still excellent with plump shrimp, tasty noodles, a hint of satay, all in a delicate sauce.
I don't understand how they have such good reviews!!!??!!! Please tell me this is not the standard for Vietnamese is Ontario. The food was below average at best. Service was slow, food took long to come out. We went for dinner and started with salad...rolls. Like I said, it took long to come out....but it tasted as though it was pre-made and not freshly rolled. I don't get it. I ordered a pho with rare beef, beef balls and tender beef....none of it tasted fresh and the broth barely had any flavour. My boyfriend had the yellow noodles with shrimp, pork, chicken(m05) I think and he said his tasted ok except the chicken was thinly sliced and resembled lunch meat. I hope our eating experiences improve on this trip to Ontario. Ugh
... of the reviews, the “people” post. I know everyone has a different interest in the food they eat, but if people claim to be regular consumers of Vietnamese cuisine and then they give these 4 or 5 stars there are only two explanations: 1-...these unfortunate people had their stomachs separated from the brain than a small result of a teufel autounfall 2 they post this because they are friends. ordered black-spring rolls that were banished in the extreme, with the exception of the oil in which they were fried, which gives an ugly bitterness because it was old. the sweet and acidic chicken bean soup 9 for a small) was a styrofoam bowl (filled with bean sprouts and almost no broth. it was almost literally nothing but steamed veg and 95% buoyant. it was merciful that there were only three pieces of huh, because these slices of chicken breast tasted from the refrigerator and was at least two days old. only disgusting and one of the worst price-quality ratios I have experienced in a decade. they stay away when they find out in the Vietnamese kitchen.
