View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Palais Imperial:
Had Chinese food for supper. Bland, greasy, uninspired - no better than food court fare. Don't waste your time or money here. There are so many better options available. View all feedback.
Not exaggerating, this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. The general tso and sweet and sour pork had an amazing coating but the pieces inside were huge! Egg rolls are incredible, Hunan dumplings out of this work. Beyond amazing
I was very impressed with this place, the staff are all very friendly, the food is top quality and bursting with flavours an the wait time is not very long at all especially for the amount of people there. I ordered the yellow curry, and hands down it was the best Thai curry I’ve had. Spring roll are also amazing too. Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone
My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant on Canada Day because I was craving pad Thai (lol). The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and accommodating when we informed them that we only wanted an order of pad Thai. The food was delicious, although I don't have much to compare it to since the only other pad Thai I've had was from Thai Express. The portions were large, the prices were fair, but the only downside was the decor. Overall, we would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others.
A couple of years ago, I visited this restaurant with friends and it left a lasting impression on me. I absolutely adored the chicken coconut milk soup and curry dish that I ordered. Being with a large group allowed me to sample a variety of dishes. If you go with a group of at least seven people, you can enjoy sitting at a large round table with a turntable in the center, making it easy to share food with friends. This restaurant is a great choice if you enjoy Thai cuisine and is located in the market area. Be sure to check it out next time you're in the area!
The restaurant has been in the area for about 20 years and it's still going strong, so they must be doing something right. Although I'm not an expert on Royal Thai cuisine, it seems that the Thai dishes prepared by Chinese chefs may not be completely authentic. However, Palais Imperial is my favorite spot for dim sum in Ottawa. In my opinion, it surpasses any other dim sum restaurant in Ottawa Chinatown. They offer a great selection of dishes and have friendly service.
