Monkey Joe's Bar & Grill - Ottawa

We live in the area and try to make it out regularly, particularly during patio weather. Our favourites are potato skins, wings and fried zucchini (usually in a combo platter). Nachos are also very good. We went today and had excellent patio service from Carolyne. Took our order quickly and accurately, food was hot and delicious. Carolyne was very friendly and attentive without hovering. Never disappointed!

We had dinner here last night. We had a great time and had an awesome server Geoff. I had the wings (suicide of course) and my wife had a burger. Both were very good. I love beer and Geoff recommended a local beer. It was the best beer I had in a long time. It made the night. So, I highly recommend this place.

We don't like it very much, the environment has a strange smell, care until it's good, but we don't like it very much.

My first time to Ottawa on a family vacation. This was the first place we found for lunch that looked interesting. Only a few people in the restaurant; seated quickly and waitress efficiently took our order. We each ordered a salad - one chefs salad w/ chicken and two specials. Waitress brought out the chefs salad and one special. I explained to the waitress that my son ordered a salad also. She apologized, put his order in with the kitchen and returned saying that the kitchen help is new and they are overwhelmed. She returned shortly with a chef salad. I explained to her that it was alright, but he ordered special. She apologized and returned a few minutes later offering us a free soda. I'm sorry Monkey Joe's, but at a minimum his salad should have been comped.....food was good......service, well not so much.

We went to Monkey Joe's on the advice of a friend to watch the SENS game and had the most amazing loaded Natchos! The chips stayed so crispy all the way through and they were so massive, the two of us gave up! The restaurant has got a great set up for sports, TV's are well dispersed, although I would have liked the volume to have been a touch louder, and the staff was super friendly. Definately will be making this a regular game night destination.
