So I came to visit my brother and he said he was gonna treat me to an African restaurant and I was gonna love it. Well he wasn't lying. I had the rice and beans with tilapia fish and my daughter and nieces had the jollof rice and chicken and other family members had curry goat and rice, okra and soup. The portions were good and so was the service but most of all we all had a great Sunday lunch. The restaurant caters f... View all feedback.

I ordered for take out. They are very nice and the food is yummy. Just a taste takes me home. Depending on your taste buds you can ask for the meal to be as spicy as you like.

We ordered 2 dishes, Jollof Rice and Peanut Soup with Rice balls. The young fellow who took our order wasn't very helpful in answering our questions. The Jollof Rice dish arrived first and came with a fried fish that was very bony. The second dish came quite a bit later and it was tasty although the goat meat was quite tough. All in all, a disappointing meal.
Decided to try an Afro-Carribean restaurant for the first time. Very good meal. Friendly staff, helpful with suggestions for first timers. I had the rice and curried goat--and loved it. My friend had bean stew with fried plantains. She loved her meal as well. Good sized portions, good value. Would eat here again.
Good African cuisine, very reasonably priced. Each of us tried something different: Jolof rice with meat (delicious); pounded yam with 'light soup' (a mild version of a pepper soup); fried yam with 'turkey tail'; rice and beans with goat curry (also excellent). We ate in, but you may wish to do take out (zero ambience in a small storefront in a strip mall off Merivale). The service was very friendly. Worth a trip for food hard to find elsewhere.
WOW! Such a great hidden gem! My wife and I stopped in looking for something new to have and this was like hitting the jackpot. The staff (and even the customers that were in there too) were fun, happy, and made you feel welcome and at home. When we told them what we were looking to do they sat down with us and helped us pick out some selections with solid recommendations. Yes, the menu is small but it's all homemade which is why. Don't get the Canadian section...it's not McD's...try what you're there for. The jamaican jerk chicken is amazing too btw!! I hope that some people read this but not too many so my wife and I can continue to get a table in this little star in the sky of the Ottawas food scene.
