I tried a variety of items... read more What sets Datsun apart from other restaurants on Elgin Street is its ambiance and ability to nail both food and cocktails perfectly. I tried a variety of items from the menu and every dish was excellent. However, I did feel that the portions were a bit small for the price. While the prices were reasonable, the serving sizes were just enough for one person. I would definitely return to Datsun, but I recommend parking a bit away from the road if visiting on a weekend.

The buns w... read more Wow! datsun is a fantastic restaurant that will leave you wanting more. We started with the pig and chicken buns (crispy tofu) and were very pleased. The buns were tender and delicious, making them hard to resist. For our main course, we shared squash dumplings, pork noodles, and crispy cauliflower bites. The spice level was just right with a nice kick. I highly recommend trying them. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but I suggest dining on their terrace for a lighter atmosphere.

The bao buns were soft and fluffy, while the pork dumplings were juicy, tender, and flavorful. The fried dizzy dumplings were coated in sesame seeds and had a crispy outer layer. The kobocha squash dumplings were incredibly smooth, and the coconut, dill, and lime leaf sauce was excellent. The service was great, and overall it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

The squash dumplings had a very distinctive flavor, though I would have preferred a bit more spice and slightly less dill or lemongrass. The ramen was decent, but the Eggplant Dan Dan noodles were a true standout. The flavor was amazing, and the presentation was spot on. This place is not very kid-friendly, so I would recommend it for a date night.
