The Central Bierhaus in Kanata offers a diverse menu and an impressive selection of European beers. Some patrons were disappointed with slow service but praised the delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere is welcoming and child-friendly, with a wide range of menu options to suit different tastes. The restaurant is recommended for both families and friends looking for a unique dining experience with authentic European cuisine. Enjoyed our meal and drinks. Seating was uncomfortable on tall benches. Sad they dont have raclette and fondue on weekdays! Comparable to Biermarkt, but more casual feel. Comparing schnitzel i found theirs nice and very crispy but prefer biermarkt overall. Blonde waitress friendly and good service.

I visited this restaurant on a crowded Friday night, so I expected the service to be slower than usual. Unfortunately, the service was very slow. We waited for 30 minutes with empty plates on our table just to get the bill. The food was delicious and the beer was great, so no complaints there. We would come back again, just maybe not on a busy night.

We visited this restaurant for dinner on May 31st after running errands in the west end. The beer selection was extensive and varied, and we wish it were closer to us so we could explore it more often. My friend had a cold and tasty cider, while I enjoyed a cold and crisp on-tap Steigl. We started with a serving of hot and crispy fries with ketchup and a delicious garlic aioli. For our main course, we shared the Bison Chipotle sausage plate, which came with two perfectly cooked sausages, sauerkraut, and German-style potato salad. The sausage was flavorful and dense, with just the right amount of heat from the chipotle. The sauerkraut had bacon chunks throughout and was delightful. The potato salad, made with skins-on potatoes, green beans, and a light mayo-based sauce, was also excellent. We ended our meal with a piece of pumpkin pie, enhanced by candied pumpkin seeds, although we found the crust to be a bit too thick for our liking. Despite some reviews mentioning issues with service, we found our server to be prompt and attentive, although somewhat robotic in her interactions with us. Overall, our experience was not diminished and we would definitely consider returning when in the west end, even though we reside in the east end.

We always visit this restaurant before a Sens game, and even my father, who is usually very picky about restaurants, enjoys it. We have tried delicious appetizers, excellent burgers, and sausages. It is a fantastic independent restaurant and my favorite German and Kanata spot. They offer a variety of generously portioned wines for non-beer drinkers like me.

Kanata is mostly chain restaurants and it's tough to find places with fresh food, a cool dofferent atmosphere and great service but this place does all that. The Central bierhaus is right beside the movie theater where O'cconnors used to be but don't be fooled , the food here is not cheap pub, deep fried food, it's really good. The mussels are good , the burger is outstanding the perogiea are a nice touch as are the different types of sausage plates. The restaurant has a German/European theme to it and the large variety of import European beer selections is outstanding. This restaurant is great to bring the family as well as go for a few beers with your friends. If you're in the west end of Ottawa this is a great spot to try.
