There are four stairs up to this restaurant. We were seated in a booth with a view of the alley beside the building, but that was okay because we were more interested in breakfast. The coffee was good and refilled often. We both had the early bird breakfast. For $6.99 each, we had two eggs, meat of our choice (I had ham, he had sausages), and hash browns (they were delicious). Peanut butter and jam are on the table.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Capital Diner:
I found this as I was looking for somewhere reasonable and close to where I was staying - this was ok, nothing bad but nothing spectacular, the place is a bit run down and it looks like it might have been converted from an Indian restaurant in a previous life without a lot of effort being put in to give it a genuine diner feel. Food was fine - standard diner fare. Nothing wrong but wouldn't make an effort to seek it... View all feedback.
My favorite restaurant downtown offers a fantastic variety of food at affordable prices, and the staff is amazing. The only downside is that there may be a wait during peak times, like Fridays at lunch. My personal recommendation is the Meatlover's breakfast.
My colleagues and I have been going to this restaurant regularly during the week. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it.
Best place to eat in ottawa! All the food is amazing and the ambiance is really good! Definitly a place everyone have to go!
Great breakfast and fantastic service highly recommend.
While the restaurant may not have been the cleanest, the hospitality was exceptional and we felt very welcomed. The food was delicious, although there weren't many dairy-free dessert options available. However, the atmosphere was cozy and the pictures of Ottawa on the walls added a beautiful touch. Overall, the experience was well worth any minor sacrifices.
