Bella's Bistro Italiano - Ottawa

Absolutely amazing food. The sauces and veal dishes are best in the city. We have been going here for many years and the owner and cook Bella is usually in the kitchen.We have not been disappointed as the food is always the highlight of our day when we go. Friendly service and an excellent place to go as a couple. Relaxing atmosphere without the loud background music and loud people.

Consistent amazing homemade food, great evening specials, cozy atmosphere and fine service. Bella's is local, family owned and literally one of Ottawa's best Italian restaurants. Onsite and street parking available. Large party room for special occasions. Outdoor patio. Make reservations to avoid disappointment.

We have been living in the Westboro area of Ottawa for almost 9 years and had yet to try Bella's Bistro Italian. This amazing, family owned restaurant has been in business for 23 years and, in this competitive restaurant market area, we now know why. The ambiance is inviting and warm, the service is friendly, yet efficient and the food is fantastic. All pasta is made in-house, sauces and accompaniments are wonderful, and there is a nice wine list. My husband and I each had the special pasta dishes of the evening and were very pleased! After we left, I discovered I had left my sweater behind and, as we turned around to go back to Bella's to retrieve it, one of the owner brothers was coming down the street with it for me! 'Now that's service excellence!

The menu is nice, but what makes it special is the willingness to modify and adopt to the customers needs and wishes.The pasta was perfect, the flavor perfectly balanced, the bread warm and sooo light and fluffy (allowing it to soak up just the right amount of balsamic)One of my favorite Italian meals in a long time

Bella's is intimate, comfortable and always a delight for the senses. My partner and I both had pasta dishes ( Fettucine al Buongusto - Tiger shrimp in creamy creole sauce, and Gnocchi con prosciutto e funghi, hand made potato gnocchi with prosciutto and mushrooms). Both arrived together ( after an excellent shared mixed salad- nicely served on 2 plates without asking) and both pastas came Piping Hot - have to love that - a place that insists on serving dishes very hot! We topped off our meal with a creme caramel and espresso- again both done right.Service is impeccable - not that I have anything against 20- somethings but wait staff here is experienced and it shows. Never had a bad experience at BB's and no doubt,a lot of that has to do with Bella herself running the kitchen. Say thanks to her when you leave, she deserves it!
