Beckta Dining & Wine Bar - Ottawa

I had a business trip/celebration planned in Ottawa in mid-August. Beckta was recommended to me. Beckta is the sort of place where if you mention you are going there, people will ask you what you are celebrating. I had made reservations for Beckta a month in advance via e-mail and was pleasantly surprised when the manager responded with a choice of times for my dining pleasure as well as enquiring of any food restrictions or special dietary requirements. The stage was set for one of my many highlights of my trip to Ottawa. From the moment I stepped in, I felt very much welcomed. The service I received was fantastic from the beginning to the end. Staff were very professional, attentive and efficient. I had a choice of a tasting menu or a 3 course menu. I opted for the 3-course menu & I was thrilled with my choice. At Beckta you will enjoy the full fine dining experience ~ the food was exquisite, the service, outstanding, the atmosphere is beautiful.I was very pleased with my experience and definitely recommend Beckta for whatever occasion you might be celebrating. Food and service outstanding. Absolutely delicious and delightful experience. For a meat eater and a vegan to both feel this way, you know it must be good!!!

Sicuramente tra i migliori ristoranti provati in Canada. Ottimi i primi, molto buoni i secondi di carne, sconsigliabile la zuppa, buoni i dolci. Servizio apparentemente preciso anche se spesso i camerieri scompaiono per un periodo di tempo superiore alla normale attesa. Vini medi ma venduti a prezzi pari al doppio degli altri ristoranti. Nel complesso è un ristorante caro. Consigliabile per una volta.

On day 22 of our Canadian road trip, we've landed in Beckta with "adjusted" expectations being a "spoiled Euro foodie". The building itself breathes authenticity, the staff is friendly but then again makes mistakes like bringing the first course without the wine. Being European we have higher standards of service at this price level. Having this said: the scallops, the cod, the tuna: all was a delight to eat. The wine list has some nice choices on it only the dessert was a disappointment: the grilled peach wasn't even grilled and I was more envious of my partners choice who took the cheeses. I have only one benchmark to measure the quality of a restaurant: "Would I come again?". And for Beckta the answer is "yes".

Notre diner chez Beckta fut une très bonne expérience.Arrivés depuis quelques jours en Ontario, nous n'étions tombés jusque là que sur des adresses servant des plats ultras gras , ultra sucrés et sans réèl talent culinaire.Beckta se rapproche de nos petits restaurants européens avec une cuisine moderne, inventive et d'audacieux mélanges de saveurs., De plus on reste en amérique du nord donc les portions servies sont vraiment généreuses ce qui ravira les plus gourmands.Le serveur a été charmant et nous a parfaitement bien conseillé pour découvrir un cru de la région.Attention : Sans être huppé , ce restaurant est "classe" donc une tenue correcte est conseillée sans être exigée. Aucune remarque ne nous a été faite, mais arrivés en bons touristes avec baskets aux pieds et tee-shirt, nous nous sommes sentis un peu décalés au milieu des costumes et tenues de soirées qui se trouvaient dans la salle.N'oubliez pas de réserver car c'est un endroit qui se remplit vite.
