Just went for the first time and will certainly be back. I got 2 Haitian patties, 1 I had right away and the second I brought home for tomorrow. I was debating between the Jamaican and Haitian patties and happy I took Nick's recommendation to try the Haitian as they're homemade with a beautiful crust. The flavor was awesome! I also had the j chicken with rice and peas and fried plantains. I had the lunch portion and... View all feedback.

This may be the worst Caribbean food in the city. First of all they got the order wrong I ordered 1lb each of J Chicken, Oxtail, and BBQ j chicken and probably received half of the food because they decided to send a 2 meat combo instead of what I ordered. The food is flavourless across the board. Rice and peas was mushy and bland. J chicken was old and weak, as if it sat under a heatlamp for 3 hours. BBQ J chicken w... View all feedback.
Decided to stop here on a whim to grab lunch and got the oxtail and curry goat with a beef patty. The oxtail and curry goat were both very flavourful and incredibly tender. They dabbed some of their homemade hot sauce onto the goat it added a nice mild kick to the dish. The plantains were perfectly ripe and the rice peas were cooked well. This spot is dog friendly too so we were able to eat with our puppy. I'll definitely be back to try their other offerings!
Dinner tonight at Nu Caribbean on Cyrville.I ordered the Ox Tail dinner that came with beans and rice, cole slaw in a citrus dressing, which was lovely and fresh, and plantains perfectly fried. To drink I tried for the first time Ting, which is a Grapefruit carbonated drink which was lovely. The food was just GREAT. Loved it!If you haven’t tried NU Caribbean, it’s a must. There’s something for everyone. Portion size is good. Service was friendly and courteous. I will be back again and again. The picture is of my half eaten dinner as I forgot to take it before I started to eat.

The food is flavourless across the board. Rice and peas was mushy and bland. J chicken was old and weak, as if it sat under a heatlamp for 3 hours. BBQ J chicken was the same with some kind of sauce on it. Beef patties are store bought really the only good thing about the meal; it actually had some flavour even though they came soggy. And what kind of Carribean restaurant doesn't have plantains as a side order? Do not recommend. Go to Ocho Rios or Run2Patty instead.
This restaurant is now permanently closed. Too bad. It was great. Almost like being in the Carribean. The pandemic did in many fine family run businesses.
J chicken is extremely bland, not spicy and no char. The rice and peas is just bland over cooked rice with no peas…no plantain. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible but but boring and far from amazing.
