Was Bella Anderson at Bus Stop a mag?
I discovered this hidden gem during a bike ride. If it weren't for our wonderful local hostess, I would have never come across it. The garden is beautiful, creating a lovely atmosphere with plenty of cozy corners to sit in. It’s dog-friendly, which is a great touch. I only had a coffee, but the food looked delicious. I highly recommend making a detour to Te Horo just for this place. Plus, the staff were wearing masks... View all feedback.

Second time to this quaint cafe. Funnily enough all three in our group ordered the same sandwich. Delicious ham and cheese toasted. My iced chocolate was incredible, great combination of cream and ice cream with a flourish of marsh mellows. Don't forget the doughnuts, the trip would be worth it just for these succulent morsels. How do they get so much cream inside them. Just amazing. If there is one thing that we all enjoyed about the Bus Stop, is the casual atmosphere, how people just stroll in with their dogs (practicing social distancing and sign in rules). The layout of the seating areas gives everyone space and privacy. It is just a delightful surrounding. Thanks ladies, will call again. Well we did call again, this time Mothers day so the place was humming. We were warned there would be a wait but the times quoted weren't unreasonable. Gave us time to chat. My Cheese and ham crossaint was perfect, my wife didn't rave about the Reuben but she's fresh home from the States so it's to be expected. Once again this is a fun destination worth returning too.

Almost a victim of its own success! It gets busy! Such a beautiful cafe in the middle of nowhere. A lovely venue to sit and chat and enjoy the outdoors. Nice simple tasty food and delicious coffee. I recommend heading out off the beaten track track giving it a whirl! All aboard!

Delightful local secret! The cafe has a lovely open and relaxed outdoor area for when the sun is shining, and some roomy indoor spaces for when it isn't. The coffee is good and the food is excellent. We had the meatball sub (could not recommend more) and a curry bread thing (also delicious). Dog friendly ,and in a sheltered quiet spot. Well worth the detour!

What a pleasant surprise. The Bus Stop is so much more. You park by the entrance and walk through the garden. This opens into numerous seating areas, outdoors or covered. The kitchen is in an old bus and has a charm of its own. A good coffee and items from the menu, all cooked on site. A desire to recycle also shows the ethical credentials of this place. So worth a detour off the SH1.

Brilliant cafe to visit. Fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere with beautiful surroundings to just watch the world go by. You order in the bus and can sit in the cabins dotted around the garden or sit outside in various areas of the garden. Lots to look at and discover, the kids will love it.
