I came back from a trip to otaki and we cried out to the Otaki kitchen for brunch I had the crushed avocado on Kapiti-Körner-Toast with mushrooms and my partner had crushed avocado on Kapiti-Körner-Toast with side of posing eggs (free rich). both meals were beautifully presented and tasted delicious and I would recommend them both. the two ladies who worked there were great, friendly and very welcoming. we will go ba... I made my way to the Family Hotel for a late lunch and to watch the Otago vs Hawkes Bay rugby match. The barman kindly agreed to my request to turn the music down and turn up the volume on the TV. There were several TVs in the bar which was great (although it is meant to be a sports bar) and I enjoyed watching the game. My seafood basket was nice, and came out in good time. Absolutely lovely, very homely and the food was delicious.
My family and I went here without any expectations and were absolutely impressed and surprised by the quality of our meals. It was steak night our steaks were cooked exactly as we'd requested, blue and rare. The accompanying fries, mushroom sauce, garlic butter and salad were outstanding and complemented the sirloin perfectly. At only $15, the value here is unbeatable one would expect to pay at least $30 for a steak this good in Wellington. Thanks Family Hotel for a great meal, we'll be back!
