The lovely restaurant café is located directly on the North Baltic Sea Canal in Osterröhnfeld. From there you can look towards the Rendsburger Kreishafen and the old Rendsburger Railway Hochbrücke, which is protected as a technical monument. We entered the brightly clean and sun-flooded canal café at 16:00. The main coffee season was almost over and a lot of guests inside and on the terrace were caught up, so the two services had much to do with paying customers and covering the tables. We took place at a nice table on the water side, on which there was also tableware, which was then quickly cleared. Since one service was still in the time of incorporation and the two had a lot to do, it took almost half an hour to order. When ordering, the extremely nice employee had also apologized for the waiting period. Two waffles were ordered, a classic with hot cherries, vanilla ice cream and cream and a waffle of Frisian style, with plumnut vanilla ice cream and cream. There was a cup of coffee that was really good. The waiting period for the freshly prepared waffles was appropriate. I notice that these waffles were very good in taste and are really nothing for the little hunger. After that we were well fed. If you have a lot of hunger at the coffee time after a canal walk, I can recommend these delicious waffles that still exist in other variations. Also the view of the cake and cake buffet leaves nothing to be desired. For waffles and boxes of coffee we then paid, incl. tip, €9 each. You can't complain. When paying, it was once again apologised for the waiting period, so that it was a pleasant coffee time in a nice place. From conversations I could see that in the season the staff should also be increased. Conclusion: I can still recommend the Canal Café 100%. Just a nice place with good coffee and delicious products.
