It was pretty quiet when we arrive... read more While staying at the Highwayman Inn for a 2 family mini vacation we decided to eat at McCabes which is attached to the hotel. It was pretty quiet when we arrived and were kindly greeted by Bonny who would be our waitress for the evening. She quickly seated us, brought over crayons and colouring pages for the 5 kids, and took drink orders which came to the table quickly and correctly. After giving a few minutes to look through the menu Bonny came back and took our food order. The kids coloured and adults talked like what seemed like mere minutes when the food started arriving to the table, everything was piping hot and presentation was awesome. The order was right and everything tasted very fresh and well made. The 2 ladies had chicken quesadillas and my wife told me they were the best she had ever eaten, there were healthy pieces of chicken lots of cheese and cooked to perfection. Bonny checked on us several times and refilled drinks as needed and was very attentive to our every need. Hearing it was our youngest daughters birthday she made a special effort to recognize her with a couple little cupcake deserts with candles to make the occasion extra special, including joining us for a couple group photos before we said good night. The bill was very reasonable and for the food and service we received a great deal. This morning we went back for the buffet breakfast and again were not disappointed. Once again we were greeted by Bonny who seated us and as last night looked after our every need. The buffet was wonderful, fresh with lots of variety including Eggs Benedict and a lovely waffle/omelette station featuring the chef who made our wonderful dinner last night. We were very pleased with both experiences we had at McCabes and would highly recommend it to anybody who loves great food and wonderful service. Cheers to Bonny and chef you guys are great!!!

On our way home from cottage country we stopped in to McCabes for breakfast and found out there was a buffet (instead of their menu) which had everything I want... read more On our way home from cottage country we stopped in to McCabes for breakfast and found out there was a buffet (instead of their menu) which had everything I wanted and more (not as extensive as their Sunday brunch but still a nice selection). The waitress said we could order eggs any style if we didn't want the scrambled in the buffet. My husband didn't fancy the buffet so asked if they could do him some eggs benedict and the waitress who was excellent and attentive said certainly and when he received them they were excellent, wish I'd ordered the same but the buffet was delicious too. Looking forward to going back real soon. Really good value, great food and excellent service.
