The me... read more We are visiting Orange from Sydney and were recommended Stepping Stones by some locals. On arrival on a very cold May evening were felt cosy and relaxed. The meal was excellent and the waitress recommended a very nice local wine to accompany it. I had the Duck which was delicious and my wife had the Pork which she also enjoyed. I then had the Rhubarb desert which was just enough and finished of the evening well.

I walked to the restaurant to be created by a door with a sign "open Tuesday to Saturday".. not this Tuesday night. Next time I thought... so next time has come and Stepping stone was definitely open. Simple if not a tad lacking is what the inside of this restaurant is... it is homely however and the house the restaurant is in is lovely. The menu is very short - always a sign of a good kitchen I feel... limited options means good prep time for each of the limited dishes. Duck was my choice and it was nice. Cooked nicely with a delicious accompanying array of Veges. I liked it.. it was not the most amazing dinner of my life but I certainly enjoyed coming to Orange and Stepping Stone!

Stepping stone is a fantastic... read more I have eaten at stepping stone restaurant a number of times! I am not a foodie but enjoy good food accompanied with good friends! Stepping stone is a fantastic place for a great night out in Orange. The scallops were beautiful the beef melted in my mouth and the sundae was sweet and generous. The staff were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
