I'm not Puerto Rican, so I don't know how authentic this place is. But I know everything was so delicious and fresh! I tried their lunch special (commension with side, rice and choice of protein), it was delicious and price was really good considering the portion sizes. Will definitely come back to try more menu item! Also super happy to support local businesses like these. View all feedback.
What Luis S doesn't like about El Pegao:
I'm giving three stars because the food is good, but when it comes to customer service this restaurant is really lacking. Staff seemed to be annoyed and really don't want to work.Definitely not going to be coming back. View all feedback.

The food was exceptional, earning a perfect score of 5. The rice and beans were particularly noteworthy and highly recommended. The food is gooood. The rice , beans and the chicken was super. Enough to feed two person in one plate. Soooo delicious and the atmosphere and employees are super Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sweet Plantains, Pollo, Rice and Beans Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot
I dined in for lunch and had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The price per person was around $10 to $20, which felt very reasonable for the quality of the food. I highly recommend trying the Alcapurrias and Tostones; both dishes were delicious. The fried plantains were perfectly crispy, and the garlic flavor was just right. Don’t miss out on the rice and beans—they were a fantastic complement to the meal. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!
