Both dishes are outstanding! The food is five-star quality, and the service is equally impressive. The atmosphere may not fully translate in a takeout meal, but it certainly contributes to the overall experience. You'll get great value for your money here!

From the momen... read more Talk about true Caribbean food! I cannot express enough just how authentic and delicious this restaurant is. Peter is a true master of his craft. From the moment you enter the restaurant you are transported to a Caribbean atmosphere with music, video imagery, and the scents of truly traditional food. I have been to almost every Caribbean place in Jacksonville and none holds a candle to Irie Diner. The jerk chicken was the best I’ve ever had and I’m a regular Caribbean traveler. Tender, juicy, and full of jerk flavor. It’s so well cooked that there was a delicious jerk gravy left at the bottom of the dish that I couldn’t help but lick up. The plantains were literally the best I’ve had in town. No one gets a crispy exterior with the soft delicious center quite right but Irie does. The oxtails are hands down the best flavored and most tender in town. Oh and let’s not forget the cabbage!!!! If you live on another side of town it is well worth the drive and right off 295. This is where you find it. Im here for a visit and had a taste for some good Caribbean food. I got so lucky because Irie Diner was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Wings to start. They were awesome because they'renot fried, but real traditional jerk wings and they don't cover up the true flavor (not drowned in sauce). I has the in-housemade pineapple lemonade. Finally I had the Curry Goat with beans and rice with cabbage (so fresh). Here is the thing, the CurryGoat came with the Gravy on the side. I love it.... They are telling you, daring you to taste and experience the true flavor.All that and the service was incredibly good. I loved my experience and I hope you do as well.
