I rarely stop by, because I rarely go to Opp. (Less than once a year). So I didn't know the store had burned. I used to stop by often when I had a different job that had me passing through twice a week. It's heartbreaking, I loved the friendly staff and selection of goods. I wanted to get some Pappy's hot sauce and peanut butter taffy, those were my favorites. I hope y'all can open again one day. View all feedback.
What Marlena Karjala doesn't like about Doc's Country Store:
Service was TERRIBLE! The server had 2 tables but could not greet us. After waiting for 10 minutes I went to the front to ask for menus and was told that she was the only server there so it was hard to do it all. 2 other tables sat down after us and had service pretty quickly, they even got their food before we did. Adorable place and super friendly people!! We thought for the homemade ice cream on the way back to St. Louis and it was not disappointed!! I strongly recommend stopping when you pass through this little town store!!
Great food, friendly staff, inexpensive and the best pancakes around. Stopped for breakfast and everything was wonderful including the little country store. Will stop here again.
Great food and service. Home Country Cooking with some of the best desserts ever. It's so good, our riding club is planning trips from Pensacola to eat at Doc.
The best burgers and home fries! Atmosphere was totally awesome and we couldn't get over the toy train that was circling over us round the restaurant inside ...too cute! And the gift shop is always cool!!!
I saw writing about Doc's Country Store on the Alabama Facebook page. The shop is absolutely charming! My friend and I decided to try the restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was enthusiastic and very attentive to our needs. We had the peach ice cream for dessert. It was delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could eat there every day!! I recommend shopping and eating at the Doc's Country Store! What a treat!!
