Sweetfrog Premium Frozen Yogurt
Sweetfrog Premium Frozen Yogurt
Description
Sweet Frog in Oneonta provides a unique frozen yogurt experience, with a charming atmosphere and a plethora of toppings that delight many. Customers appreciate the community-focused events, such as private tours for Girl Scout troops, showcasing the interactive nature of the establishment. However, these positive aspects are overshadowed by reports of cleanliness issues, including sticky floors and dirty tables, which have left some patrons disillusioned. With reasonable pricing and friendly staff like manager Mackenzie aiming to enhance the customer experience, Sweet Frog has potential but must address cleanliness concerns to elevate its reputation.

The Girl Scout Troop I co-lead went to the Oneonta Sweet Frog for a troop social. I filled out the online survey on the website, requesting the tour. The manager Mackenzie called me to arrange the details, and called a few days before to confirm our event. The troop was treated like VIP, they closed the shop for the time we were there. The girls loved the behind the scenes tour of how the frozen yogurt is made, the manager did a demo on how cookies cream fro yo was made, the scouts loved making their own waffle cones or bowls, the scouts loved mixing flavors and adding toppings to their creations, the scouts loved eating their creations. The girls were treated to temporary tattoos, and coloring books as they waited to make their cones or bowls. There is a Sweet Frog community fun patch, each girl received as a participant- they put these on the back of their scout vests. This was a great experience, all of the scouts that attended were happy they did. I would recommend this for other scouting groups as it was a lot of fun!
I visited this restaurant simply because it was the only one open that day. While the atmosphere was charming, I was taken aback when I saw that my small cup of ice cream, which barely tasted like ice cream, cost $15. I had to fill the cup myself with their ice cream and toppings, and then it was weighed. The portion was comparable to a Ben and Jerry's container, possibly even smaller. Although Ben and Jerry's is known for being high quality and expensive, this experience felt outrageous. I really regret not just leaving the ice cream there.
My family and I stopped by Sweet Frog today at 1 PM, just as it opened, and I have to say, the experience was truly disappointing. The floors were sticky and dirty, and the tables and chairs were covered in yogurt stains from previous visits. I wouldn't even want to let a stray dog into the bathroom. You would expect a new restaurant to be clean, but that was far from the case here. If the dining area looks like this, I can only imagine what the kitchen must be like. I would suggest going elsewhere and spending your money at Golden Gurnsey instead.
I love going here, they're always so happy and welcoming. I had mentioned I liked the Dole Pineapple and we went today and she had gotten it! having non-dairy options is great!
