Was Joe Mendick at Wheatfields a mag?
This restaurant is amazing and will awaken a sense of nostalgia for Germany. They offer an extensive variety of desserts. I always order the Düsseldorf sausage and potato casserole, which is delicious. Don't miss the strudel with cream—it's a must-try! Pair it with a latte or a mimosa, and you have the perfect Sunday setup. View all feedback.

What Velva Connelly dislikes about Wheatfields:
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was average at best, and the service was quite poor. The establishment itself was dirty and cluttered. Additionally, the owner was rude and unprofessional. I would recommend looking for other dining options, as there are many better places to choose from. Save your time and money. View all feedback.

We ate here for dinner last night for my bday and the food was great! Home style cooking w a huge menu. I had chicken fried steak and it was delicious! Only bad thing I can say about them is.. I had them bring me a cookie and it was hard as a rock, flavor was great but I thought I was gonna break a tooth... For my b day I had a selection of 3 different cake slices for only a $1, we chose wedding cake and it was to die for.. after eating the cake I thought maybe I just got a bad cookie All in all, I will definitely eat here again, definitely a place to bring the family as the menu is so big.. BTW I have a family member w celiac disease and they told us they have nothing gluten free...read more

Horrible Experience. I and my family had a horrible experience at Wheatfields on 1224 South 103rd St. Omaha,Ne today. Even with reservations placed 3 weeks ago, we waited 2 hours to get seated, because of management screw ups I called Wheatfields on April 16th to make reservations for May 8th at 11:00 for a party of 12. We arrived early, around 10:45, on May 8th, checked in with the young lady working the desk that day, at which time she said it would be a short wait. Yes, they were extremely business and after checking a a second time and being told the same thing People are done eating but will not get up to leave, and we would have to wait we waited....read more

I don't understand why wheatfields has such a sequence. my first visit here I ordered to quiche and that was huge, but it was apparently microwave to leave the crust soggy. I tried another time and ordered a sandwich that was just okay.

If you don't know how to cook an over-medium egg, maybe you shouldn't be working in a kitchen. Seriously...cooking an egg is the most basic skill in a kitchen aside from boiling water. Whoever the cook is a Wheatfields, you should be embarrassed.

My rating and review is based solely on what I experienced, but as supplementary info: I personally do not think you should patronize this place. I think you should not give them a dollar of your money. They are locally infamous for treating/paying their employees poorly then being loud about how no one wants to work anymore. That said, the review: I haven 't sat down at their restaurant, I 've only sampled things from the bakery. However, even if improvements are made to ease my moral qualms about coming here, I don 't think I would bother to return to try it. I won 't lie, the baked goods are of excellent quality. But the area is so densely packed with tidy-yet-disorganized displays that it 's genuinely difficult to move in the storefront. They 've also occasionally posted political statements by their door, which is not something that makes me comfortable and relaxed in an establishment. If not for the truly delicious and high quality things I 've bought there, this would earn two stars at the very best.
