Tbh, I didn't expect much about the place but Mr. Choi Kitchen really surprised me with its food and service. Went here an hour and a half before their closing to grab a quick dinner with my boyfriend. We ordered the roast duck noodle soup, yang chow fried rice, and the platter (i forgot the name) that consists of hakaw, siomai, etc. I was amazed by the tenderness and reach flavor of the roast duck noodle soup. Their white baked seafood rice is really good. Every time I visit this resto, that’s what i order. It’s also good for 2-3 people. You don’t need a viand if you’re not willing to splurge much. I also ordered hot prawn salad. It costs around 400. It’s good and sulit but a bit too sweet (it also has cucumber) because it’s already a lot serving compared to Din Tai Fung, which Is the best prawn salad I’ve had but cost me 395 php which is like half of the serving in Mr. Choi.
We ordered two baked dishes this time seafood in white sauce and chicken curry. Both are flavorful but I like the seafood better. Each dish is actually already good for two people as the rice and the sauce is plenty for one although the meat seems lacking. Nevertheless I will order the baked seafood in white sauce again next time.
My all-time favorite here is their spinach soup and mushroom abalone paired with the yellow yang chow fried rice. I love their desserts. The quiet ambiance is suitable for personal chats and time with family.
Celebrated Mom's day in here Awesome service and good food. You guys should try their lapu-lapu, chicken feet and of course their signature Yang Chow fried rice.
