Tbh, I had high hopes for HEAT at Shangri-La since, you know, it’s Shang. But it didn’t really hit the mark for me. The buffet spread was okay—kinda underwhelming. For the price, I expected a way wider spread. It felt really limited, like there were only a few standout options and the rest were just okay. Not terrible, but definitely not the buffet experience I was hoping for. The service was great—super attentive and friendly staff, no complaints there. We had a great breakfast experience at the Heat. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Kudos to Dana, Vergel, Angel, and the Taho guy for being accommodating to us. We will definitely coming back again soon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Lobster with mango salsa cream is perfect as the sweetness of mangoes balance the taste of lobster. I didn't quite enjoy the wok fried lobster because it's gingery taste that overpowers the lobster. Desserts are the best!! White chocolate fondue has a twist. It seemed like typical white chocolate but the after taste would give you the meringue flavor.
I celebrated my birthday with my family with a staycation in one of their rooms, and of course, we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast buffet and purchased some more for my additional guests. Probably since it was almost Valentine 's Day, there were a lot of guests so we had to fall in line to register and then get in. Upon entering, we were welcomed by the manager. We were then deligated our seats, from there we took off our separate ways and got food for ourselves. There 's not a single dish that we did not like. Sushi bar was always replenished, as well as the bread section, cheese, etc. They also have a wide variety of fresh fruit juices and green juices. Thumbs up for that! To make the experience even more amazing, there 's a walking fresh Taho server who shouts Taho! the same way your regular manong would do on the streets every morning. Air-conditioning was regulated properly, not too warm, not too cold. Aside form the view of the food, on the other side of the restaurant you would also see the view of their beautifully landscaped pool side which is very relaxing, by the way.
