This place is genuinely creative and unlike anything I’ve been to before — truly one of a kind. Just be aware that the experience is long and the number of dishes is a lot, so make sure that’s your kind of thing before you go. One thing I’d flag for the restaurant: some of the waitstaff really need more training. Ours was constantly rushing around, tripping multiple times, nearly sending silverware flying at me, and at one point he picked up a napkin from the floor and just… put it back on the table. These kinds of things don’t belong at a place like this and can really kill the vibe of an otherwise amazing experience.
My partner and I had lunch at Les Cols with high expectations, and while the experience started strong, it ultimately fell short of what you would expect from a two Michelin-starred restaurant. On the positive side, the setting is absolutely stunning. Both the masia and the extended spaces are beautifully designed, and the opening part of the experience, with appetizers in the garden and the guided tour, felt thoughtful, elegant, and very promising. However, things started to decline once we sat down for the main dining experience. With the exception of a couple of standout dishes, most of the menu felt surprisingly lackluster, lacking in flavor, texture, and overall execution. It simply did not meet the level of creativity or refinement expected at this level. As a vegetarian, the experience was particularly disappointing. Despite the restaurant’s vegetable-forward positioning, a significant portion of the menu included meat, and many vegetarian adaptations felt like an afterthought, with dishes where the meat was simply removed rather than thoughtfully reimagined. Only one dish attempted something different, and unfortunately, it did not work. Paying the same price for a clearly diminished experience felt hard to justify. The most frustrating aspect, however, was the pacing. The lunch extended to nearly five hours, and the timing of dishes was inconsistent and at times painfully slow. By the end, it became exhausting rather than enjoyable. We ended up skipping the petit fours just to bring the experience to a close. Based on our experience, the concerns others have raised about timing are entirely valid. Finally, we were celebrating a special birthday, which had been communicated well in advance and reiterated during the meal, yet there was no acknowledgment or personalization. At this level, that lack of attention to detail is surprising. Overall, while the setting and opening moments are memorable, the food, pacing, and service do not live up to the restaurant’s reputation. For us, it was ultimately a fairly average experience that does not justify its two Michelin stars, especially compared to many other two Michelin experiences we have had.
Wonderful experience in the RCR Arquitectos interior! I have to admit I was a bit sceptical of this two Michelin star restaurant but I loved it. The food is at the same time simple but creative, no over trying though. The ingredients are seasonal and come often from the own farm. You can literally see the chicken from the restaurant window. The service was excellent and the wine pairing incredible. I felt the price wasn’t that bad either as there were 28 courses as I had one extra. It was almost too much and the dining took four hours altogether. It’s always touching to see things done with passion.
Excellent design of food, ambiance and service based on location-Olot, La Garroxta- honoring the natural and local vegetables, animals, herbs and inanimate objects such as the volcanic stones to produce food of extraordinary taste and visual enjoyment. Deserves 3 Michelin stars
The restaurant is spectacular, it couldn't be more beautiful and the farmhouse is beautiful. The food was quite good but not adapted to the season, too many cold bites, but still lived up to expectations: surprising, tasty and of exceptional quality. The correct service, too much rotation of waiters, I prefer a reference waiter to guide us throughout the gastronomic experience and a bit of rush and lack of order to present and serve the dishes (still 5 hours of experience). The worst thing is that it was cold and although the pairing in the end helps to warm the spirit, it would be much more pleasant to eat at a warmer temperature. With everything I recommend the visit.
