Diggle Chippy
Description
Diggle Chippy offers a varying dining experience, with reviews ranging from fantastic to subpar. Some customers rave about the freshness and quality of their food, particularly highlighting the delicious fish and chips. Others have experienced inconsistencies like overcooked food or subpar homemade dishes. While the customer service is generally praised, some have noted the focus on quantity rather than quality. The quality of this restaurant varies depending on when you go. If you go for an early dinner, you may receive overcooked leftovers from earlier in the day. It's best to go around 7-7:30pm when the restaurant is busiest and has better turnover. The fish can be inconsistent, sometimes fresh but occasionally smelling off. Overall, it's a decent option, although not quite up to Yorkshire standards.
I have tried the breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this restaurant and they were all excellent. The portion sizes are small but sufficient. The batter on the fish is excellent, as is the fish itself.
This is my favorite local fish and chip shop and I highly recommend it. Most items are cooked fresh to order and the quality is consistently good, all at a reasonable price.
We really enjoyed the fish and chips. Nice thick white fish with crispy batter. Location nice too. You may be fortunate to eat them on the bench next to the river
