First visit to Somchai met my expectations. Loved the texture of the fried rice and perfectly seasoned pad kee mao noodles. I am looking forward to trying out the phat thai. Thank you. View all feedback.
What Purple DIA Chablè doesn't like about Somchai:
We came here because our go to thai restaurant was close. Have to pay 300 yen for parking near by. The thai tea wasnt the best, it was lacking some flavor. The tomyum wasnt sour enough. We did enjoyed the padthai, the flavor was really good. But i think it was a lil bit pricey for such a small amount. View all feedback.
Cash only, but excellent food. I mean, extremely excellent food. I can give this place 5 stars. This is about as good as it gets, and I don’t even want to say that, because I want to keep it a secret so I can get a table when I go there. Because it’s damn good Thai food. I have been multiple time now, I expect to be a regular. One thing really like is how they have different menus on different weeks, so it forces you to try new things (all of which are good, don’t worry). Honestly I think going forward I will have to order two different meals for myself when I go in there. The coconut ice cream was amazing by the way. If you are not dining alone, you might want to order two servings don’t try and share one. We originally ordered one coconut ice cream to split between two adults and one kid, but our kid loved it and greedily ate 95% of it. But that stuff is so delicious, no wonder he turned into a ravenous wolf. So next time we get three coconut ice creams, one for each of us. In my opinion, on a scaled of 1 5 this place is a 6.
The best thai food in Okinawa, and honestly the best I’ve ever had. Extremely fair prices. Owners are very personable and down to earth people. Highly recommend!
Great find, GREAT food and an easy walk out of Kadena Gate 2! I am in love with this soup!! Recommend grabbing food here and strolling around the neighborhood! Menu in English and Japanese. Parking in a paid lot nearby.
We have a place we always go to for Thai food, but saw this place and wanted to give it a try. My wife got the Krapow and is was absolutely amazing. Could be a little spicier, but the flavor was awesome. I cannot say the same for the garlic khaw phad kai. Not much flavor and small portion size for the price. I dumped all of the sweet and sour sauce into my fried rice to give it flavor
