Blue Agate Cafe - Oceanside

Oceanside doesn't offer many dining options, but I highly recommend the Blue Agate Café for breakfast or lunch, even if there were plenty of choices. It's a perfect spot after a morning of agate hunting or kite flying on the beach below. This charming café is adorned with historic photos of Oceanside and its surroundings, and it boasts a lovely view of the beach and Maxwell Point. While the interior is a bit small (can I say cozy?), it may not be ideal for large groups; however, they do have outdoor seating available if the weather permits. Their lunch menu features coastal favorites like burgers, fries, and fish and chips. The staff is friendly and welcomed us at a table even though we arrived just 15 minutes before closing. A heads-up: they close early—around 3 or 4 most days—so don’t expect to grab a BLT after watching the sunset. Nonetheless, this early closing time adds to the charm of a quaint seaside community like Oceanside.

This restaurant boasts a fantastic beachside location, just a short stroll from Oceanside beach. The crab and shrimp melt is simply irresistible! The root beer is also a delightful choice. It’s a charming local establishment that offers excellent food and outstanding service.

This is a great place down by Agate Beach. Had the great white beach burrito. The burrito was big, delicious, and satisfying. As were the potatoes. The service was swift and friendly. Will be returning here whenever possible.

My son and I visited after a morning of exploring the coast. Although The Blue Agate was quite busy, the service remained quick and friendly! We started with a cup of delicious clam chowder to share. I ordered the crab tacos, while my son opted for the fish and chips. Both dishes were fantastic!

The Blue Agate Cafe is wonderful. Their menu is full of delicious offerings, including fish tacos! They have a back patio that is dog friendly. I cannot wait to return!
