Catrina's - Oberlin
Catrina's
Description
Tucked into downtown Oberlin, this Mexican spot charms with Frida Kahlo–inspired decor, punchy guacamole and standout tacos (chipotle pork, cochinita pibil), plus indulgent desserts like Xango. Diners praise authentic flavors and reasonable portions, while opinions split on pricing and margaritas. Service can be warm but inconsistent; the restaurant is family-friendly and a lively casual choice for locals and visitors. With a developing liquor license and an evolving menu, it’s a promising, flavorful addition to the neighborhood’s dining scene.

Sat at the bar, bartender looked right at us, and just chatted to a guy eating at the bar, she looked straight at us again, never asked if we wanted anything, so we stood up and left. So bizarre!! Now we know why there was hardly anyone there AND why they have a help wanted sign. Friday the 26th, around 8pm
Excellent place, I love the decoration and the Mexican style. The service is good and friendly and the owner is polite and always asking if we need anything. We ordered tacos de cochinita pibil and fajitas, both were delicious and the same taste as if we were in Mexico. For drink we ordered agua de horchata and for dessert xango both fantastic.
DELICIOUS! Definitely the best Mexican food I've had outside of San Diego. Great service. Decently priced. Will most definitely be back!
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and cute decor. Candy skulls and Frida Kahlo. Wanted to check this place out myself since I had heard both good and bad about it since it opened. The service was good but nothing exceptional. I found the food overpriced and NOT impressive. $14 for 3 tacos which I hate to say were not that flavorful. For half the money I spent I could've gone to Agave (a few doors down) and gotten better food.
