Wendy's - Oberlin
Wendy's
Description
The restaurant has garnered a mixed bag of reviews, highlighting issues such as inconsistent service, locked dining areas, and cleanliness concerns. Although some patrons commend the friendly and efficient staff, others have experienced long wait times and incorrect orders. The ambiance appears modern but marred by cleanliness issues in restrooms and the parking lot. While the food quality, particularly the chili, receives praise, the overall dining experience suffers from operational inefficiencies. Customers suggest considering alternative locations for a better experience.

We were there about 11:30am 9/16/23. Great staff and great food. Dirty and Disgusting men's room and parking lot. The men's room trash can was overflowing and the paper towel dispenser was empty. Toilet paper on the floor. The dining room looked tidy. We were the only two customers inside the building.
Employees will come out of restroom with apron still on, hands and sink dry, and go back to cooking immediately. Left without ordering. Disgusting.
Had issues in the past. FYI Corporate doesn't care. Regardless, Stopped in today to grab mobile order. Noticed drive thru super long. Pulled into spot to run in and get order. Door locked. Worker came out and saw me pulling on door. Told her its locked and she said they are short staffed. I get it. Workers are hard to find. No signs on door though or anything saying lobby closed. She went and stood with bags of food in parking lot talking to someone while line was around building. I got back into line while she was still talking (if they are short staffed shouldn't you get back in to your co workers? I realize you get a lunch/break but you just handed bags of food to someone else). Line was not moving so I placed a Burger King order in the Wendys drive thru and it was even cheaper. Win! Cancelled the Wendys order and got our Whoopers instead. Wendys' is great but Oberlin Wendy's is awful.
No ice in drink dispenser. We were told there was no sweet tea in store when unsweetened ran out, no way to make more until truck arrived.Staff walking slowly carefully to not fall on wet (or greasy? floor. None made eye contact with customers.Chili was hot tasty. Cold fries were grudgingly replaced with hot fries.Outer door slammed every time someone went in/out. Not Dave Thomas' best example of a well-run restaurant.
