This was our first night out in Oaxaca. The staff went above and beyond our expectations in terms of preparing to our dietary needs on the spot. Menu options even with the added dietary requirements were creative and different. The atmosphere is relatively quieter than many other places and felt it was perfect for couples on dates.
We ate there last night, and the food and service were very good. I started with a cerviche, which was flavored perfectly, with just enough heat. My main dish was duck breast, which looked beautiful, and the sauce was stunning. The room where we ate, in front of the window, was a lovely room, as were the other rooms I walked through at the end of the meal. I wish that I could give this restaurant 4 1/2 stars because I think it deserves it. It’s just a smidgen short of being five stars for me.
This is rightly one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. I walked in the door and they immediately asked if I had allergies, knew exactly what I could/couldn’t eat. I had the duck with a (GF! mole for dinner, which was delicious (it’s been hard to find a GF brown mole .
Lovely restaurant. Beautiful main seating area is on second floor. Sitting by the open windows was great. This is near the Textile museum and the mezcal tasting room. Service was fantastic and so were cocktails. Summer Aperol and margarita tamarindo were so yummy. We can safely say cocktails in Oaxaca in general are at another level. Another obvious thing is that prices are very reasonable, in fact cheap compared to US. And we could use our credit cards everywhere except for street vendors. Beautiful bar room is separated and in an adjacent room. There is an open kitchen in the first floor. We shared the dishes and kept sampling. It is a fairly popular spot and we had reservations. I would recommend you do that. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. Modern elements mixed with cultural vignettes. When it comes to food, this was good but not spectacular. A lukewarm ceviche is not much appealing. While beautiful and yes we ate some, it was fine but lacked the cold salty briny brightness. Same thing could be said for the guacamole; lovely and fresh but lacking in flavors. Thankfully the crickets and worms added a bit of crunch and interest. We enjoyed the overall experience. They have a great menu and based on what you order you might have better luck than we did. So check it out!
